About the Winery
Mill Creek is a small, family owned and operated winery located
in the southern end of the Dry Creek Valley, in Sonoma County. On
this single property of 55 acres, is a place that completes the
entire process of growing grapes through selling wine. Unlike some
properties where they purchase most of the fruit, or even make the
wine off-site, Mill Creek is the complete package where one can
experience the creation of excellent varietal wines from start to
finish.
Mill Creek wines have won many of the most prestigious awards possible
including the Sonoma County Harvest Fair's coveted Sweepstakes Award,
the California State Fair's Best Wine in the State award, and Orange
County Fair's Four Star Gold as well as dozens of Best of Class
awards and hundreds of Gold medals.
Northeast Wine Brokers is proud to be the exclusive agent for the
following Mill Creek wines in Connecticut:
2009 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Dry Creek Valley
The grapes for this wine come from the Sauvignon Block on our estate
property. This delightfully bright wine shows a fresh nose of grapefruit
and lime with a hint of honey. Flavors are classic Sauvignon Blanc
fruit with lime and grapefruit. The finish is spicy and lively.
2009 Estate Chardonnay - Unoaked, Dry Creek
Valley
GOLD MEDAL - Sonoma County Harvest Fair
Unlike typical California Chardonnays this wine is completely
unoaked and has not gone through malolactic fermentation. The wine
is fresh and bright, with notes of apple, pear and mandarin orange.
The finish is light and crisp, with Chardonnay fruit flavors showing
throughout. This is the perfect food wine to enjoy with fish or
poultry.
2010 Gewurztraminer - Estate, Dry Creek
Valley
A dryer than typical Gewurztraminer, this wine shows tropical
fruit, lychee nut, grapefruit and rose. At less than one-percent
residual sugar, this wine will pair perfectly with many Asian dishes.
It is also delicious by itself.
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County
Best of Class, Gold North of the Gate Wine Competition
The grapes for this wine originated 67% from our Estate property
in Dry Creek Valley and 33% from our Kreck Family Vineyards in Alexander
Valley. Bursting with aromas of blackberry jam and spice, this wine
caresses the palate with layers of fruit, anise, and leather. The
wine has a dark ruby color and exhibits medium body with moderate
tannins. The finish is long and spicy.
2005 Estate Merlot, Dry Creek Valley
This wine begins with a nose of gunflint and black pepper. Flavors
are of blackberry and tart cherry with big notes of spice and a
touch of vanilla. Medium body, fine tannins. Serve this wine with
red meat, lamb, grilled salmon, and anything with blue cheese. For
dessert, pair it with chocolate.
2006 Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley
The grapes for the 2006 Dry Creek Zinfandel were grown on the eastern
bench of the valley, very near the Healdsburg Airport. Red soils
and minimal irrigation contribute to the impressive body of this
wine. The must was fermented in small open-top fermenters and lasted
for 6 days. After being pressed off the skins and seeds, the new
wine was barreled down in French and American Oak (33% new) for
16 months. Deep purple in color, tobacco and raspberry aromas leap
out of the glass of this rich, complex wine. Flavors of tart berry,
vanilla, and black pepper combine with a round, concentrated mouth
feel giving the wine a long, smooth finish.
