About the Winery
Nestled on a ridge overlooking the Russian River Valley, Paradise
Ridge Winery is a family wine estate. The fertile rocky soil and
sunny hillside exposure of the Paradise vineyards help create the
wines that proudly carry the Paradise Ridge label. The vineyards
adjoin the lands of the historic Fountaingrove Winery that at the
turn of the century won international acclaim for its wines.
Over the last ten years, Paradise Ridge Winemaker Dan Barwick (previously
from Ferrari-Carano) has handcrafted exquisite Paradise Ridge wines
and produced some of the most food friendly wines in California.
Diligently he oversees every step of the winemaking process from
the vineyard to the bottle.
Northeast Wine Brokers is proud to be the exclusive agent for the
following Paradise Ridge wines in Connecticut:
2011 Sauvignon Blanc, Grandview Vineyard,
Russian River Valley
This wine was made to express the varietal characteristics of the
fruit on the vine. Hand picked & cluster selected by the winemaker,
only the best grapes passed the test for this exceptional wine.
Delicately made, yet packed with flavor, fresh fig & grapefruit
come to mind. The refreshing acidity and a sleek, lean body, lead
to a long lasting tropical fruit finish. The perfect wine for any
occasion!
Only 680 cases made.
2010 Chardonnay, Sapphire Hill Vineyard,
Russian River Valley
Many steps taken to make a wine with as much complexity as possible.
The result of which has given us a Chardonnay wine with that 'classical
barrel fermented' character, a bright level of acidity, along with
perhaps some more of a European minerality and sophistication.
Aged in French Oak, 20% new, 50% of the wine went through Malolactic
Fermentation.
This wine was created with food in mind and makes an excellent
food companion.
Only 400 cases produced.
2009 Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
The grapes for this wine were harvested from two distinct and exceptional
vineyards located in the Russian River Valley. Three unique grape
clones combined with three separate harvests added a nice level
of depth and complexity.
This wine was barrel aged for 10 months in 100% French oak selected
from six different coopers. The barrels were predominantly medium
toast and 45% were new. The wine was bottled unfiltered in July
of 2010.
This wine is seductively silky and rich with enormous complexity
and variety of character. Restrained in style, this Pinot Noir is
very food friendly.
Only 240 cases made!
2007"Elevation" Cabernet Sauvignon,
Rockpile
A lot of extra work went into achieving great depth and complexity.
Aged in French Oak, 40% new. Stylistically restrained and reserved,
there is a fruit profile that is immensely powerful, yet delicate
at the same time. The sweet fruit has a broad spectrum of aromatics
and flavors and is backed by some of the most smooth, soft and silky
tannins I've encountered from this vineyard, yet these tannins are
constantly present and persistent, which has all resulted in this
quite amazing wine, with the balance, depth and long finish we have
come to expect from the 'Rockpile Vineyard'. - Dan Barwick, Winemaker
1050 cases produced.
